Meet Our Counsellor
Tara Oakes, Counsellor, RPC-C, RTC-C

At Bridging Change Counselling, we know taking the first step to getting help can often be the most difficult one, so we welcome you and commend your courage. Are you looking for a change in your life, but you just don’t know how to make it happen, or maybe you just need a bit of additional support through a difficult time? At Bridging Change Counselling, we are dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, professional counselling environment for individuals, couples, and families that is affordable and accessible through online counselling, or in person meetings. We support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, crisis/trauma, relationship issues, stress, loss and grief, and general mental health issues. We value a client centred approach within a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) framework highlighting the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. We believe in the power of counselling to foster emotional well-being and personal growth.

Our individual counselling sessions are tailored to address personal challenges and promote mental wellness. We utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support clients in navigating their emotional journey and achieving positive outcomes.

Our couples counselling services are designed to strengthen relationships and enhance communication. We work with couples to navigate challenges, deepen intimacy, and foster mutual understanding within their partnership.

Family counselling is a supportive service designed to help families navigate challenges and improve communication. Through guided sessions, families can explore their dynamics, address conflicts, and strengthen their relationships. Together, we work towards building healthier connections and resolving issues for a more harmonious family life.
